The award is given by a children's jury, aged 8 to 12.
Block 5 does not underestimate its audience, nor is it afraid to raise pressing issues within the youth film genre in a communicative and humorous way.
The film highlighted the value of friendship and the potential that develops when children collaborate with each other. When they do, they can stand up against anything that disrespects them and the environment around them. With an engaging script and the appropriate music, it conveyed the message that we should never give up and keep fighting until the end, even when those against us seem unbeatable.
Swiss-Italian Foundation for Help, Support and Child Protection awards the film that best represents the child's right to respect.
Gre za globoko, spodbudno in pomembno razmišljanje."
Awarded by the ECFA - European Children's Film Association Jury
Because of the formal freshness and expressive power that characterize the story of an uncharacteristic sisterhood in a distinctly dialectical sociocultural context. A modern sisterhood that uncompromisingly overcomes conformism and traditional schemes and expresses a strong will to survive in a patriarchal society by formulating new rules and commandments.
This film delivers a refreshing portrayal of sisterhood through its bold filmmaking choices. The exquisitely composed sound score combined with stellar performances give context and power to female anger.
A short film can speak to the viewer as a fragment of a larger whole, or as a carefully crafted miniature. With Bits, the director Áron Horváth Botka managed to create a work that brilliantly demonstrates the full potential of the short format, thanks to compelling directorial and acting performance and an extraordinary emotional effect that is perfectly comparable to that of a feature-length drama. Bits is one of the short films where there is nothing to add or take away, a film that achieves its full potential exactly as it is.
