With so many amazing short films to choose from, this film stood out for its story, unique art style and strong main character. The main character is shown as independent and strong, but also a little stubborn and rebellious. The film also shows how being a woman can change the way people see you. Its unexpected ending adds another layer to the story and invites the audience to reflect on identity and change. The art style is simple but unique. By telling the story entirely through text and without sound, the film takes an unusual approach to storytelling. For all these reasons, the jury chose The Girl Who Wasn’t Afraid of Bears.
A concise narrative film about the life of Hinko Smrekar. The thoughtful, well-paced narration and stylistically accomplished animation keep the viewer’s attention in suspense until the very last frame of his tragic fate.
Za temperamentno in humorno rušenje svetinj patriarhalne družbe.
