Synopsis
We thought we were made of dust, but in fact, we are just spirit. Situated in a strange, trashy universe, the story revolves around two creatures. A taxidermist and a butcher. The butcher gets the taxidermist hooked on his drugs, which he offers as an alleged cure for the taxidermist’s disease. The taxidermist becomes a junkie and gives away the most precious love to the butcher in exchange for more drugs. After realizing what he did, he goes to take what belongs to him, but the path ahead is a one-way journey.

Nagrada DSAF za končan študijski animirani film.
Komisija je nagrado podelila projektu, ki pogumno pristopa k obravnavi kompleksne tematike.
Vrtoglava Soma Sandre Jovanovske je preiskovanje (z)možnosti (animiranega) filma, ki s premišljeno uporabo ready-madeov izvirno obravnava temo odvisnosti. Kljub zahtevnosti problematike dopušča prostor interpretaciji.
"With a brave and innovative, yet old school, approach to the narrative, the film is a real visual feast that is also able to convey a unique view on difficult topics such as drug addiction and consumerism. The combination of dark humor and disturbing images, shot with an extraordinary level of craftsmanship, evokes the works of the masters of adult animation such as Jan Svankmeyer or the Quay Brothers. Therefore, the K3 Festival Jury Award for the Best Short Film goes to SOMA."
