As her mother joins Doctors without Borders in Liberia, Gaja now lives together with her father and sister Tea, in a recently dissolved family that strives to get on its feet again. Gaja likes her saxophone teacher and loves to hang out with her best friend, who is a computer whiz as well as an eternal victim of his stronger schoolmates. Nothing can keep Gaja from standing by him at every step. They stick together even when they face a perilous situation and have to help Tea and her friend, who get entangled in the dangerous world of online threats because of their teenage naivety.

Nataša Sevčnikar created discreet but consistent make-up for the whole cast of Gaja's World, which, to the right extent and with feeling, visually supports the unreal and simplified world of children's and youth film.
For a topical and entertaining children's film that deservedly fares very well against all the live action features, regardless of the perceptions on the hierarchy of film genre. High quality films for young audiences are developing the future cinemagoers across Europe. As part of this very necessary development, Gaja's World has succeeded to be a worthy continuation of the tradition of films for children in Slovenia.
