Propeler Film

The production company Propeler Film was founded in 2001 after Boris T. Matić produced the first Croatian independent feature film "Mondo Bobo" (1997) directed by Goran Rušinović, as well as one of the most-watched Croatian documentaries "Novo, novo vrijeme" (2001) by Rajko Grlić and Igor Mirković. Projects of Propeler Film are jointly realized by Boris T. Matić and Lana Matić with the support of a number of regular collaborators, and their primary mission is to support daring authors through careful selection. In their continuous work, they regularly collaborate with production companies from Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, while also forming successful partnerships on the domestic scene. The filmography of Propeler Film today consists of almost fifty feature and documentary films that have won over 150 international film awards over the past two decades. Less conventional projects, such as the omnibuses "Seks, piće i krvoproliće" and "Zagrebačke priče," have opened doors to world festivals for numerous Croatian debutants, and an important place in the catalog is occupied by the films of the acclaimed Croatian author Antonio Nuić. Propeler Film is also responsible for a series of excellent co-productions with Slovenia, Serbia, Belgium, and Bulgaria, among which the co-production of films by Srdan Golubović, one of the best contemporary Serbian authors, stands out. His film "Krugovi" received a special jury award at the Sundance Film Festival, while the recent film "Otac" was the winner of the Panorama program at the prestigious Berlinale (2020).
