High School Jury Best Short Film Award

The theme of this year's festival, "The Color of Crisis," invites us to recognize various forms of crisis through film: existential, social, and those concerning human connection, economic, political, etc. Anyway, we chose the film "The Small House" because, in our opinion, it fits the description of the theme. The film follows Tatyana, a manicurist who lives on the second floor of her parents' house, just like most people in her village. When she visits a friend who has just built her dream house, Tatyana realizes it is time to create her own home and life, so she takes a 'small house'.

This carefully crafted comedy of emancipation unfolds with a light-hearted tone in a playful atmosphere of small-town scrutiny, while the more complex issue of access to housing plays out in the background.

Medtem ko hollywoodske barbike uživajo v mondenem življenju, se slovenske borbike borijo za umetniško rezidenco, ki jim bo za nekaj mesecev rešila eksistencialne probleme in omogočila hrano ter streho nad glavo. Borbike so film nasprotij. Plastične lutke se ukvarjajo s problemi ljudi iz mesa in krvi, preprosta animacija pa preseneti s prefinjenimi tehničnimi detajli.
