Sara Bezovšek (1993) is a visual artist working in the fields of new media, experimental film, and graphic design. Her artistic practice is characterised by the exploration, collection and storage of mostly pop-cultural visual references from various online platforms, films and TV series. Using the cut/copy-and-paste technique, she combines the found digital material into web pages, collages, mashup videos, etc., thus creating new narratives through appropriation. In doing so, she is interested in what people view and share on social networks, how visual material travels the internet, how it changes and how it affects its users. She holds a master's degree in Visual Communications, majoring in Graphic Design, from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. In 2018, she held her first solo exhibition titled (◉_◉) at the Aksioma Project Space in Ljubljana, and received the ALUO Student Prešeren Award for the ZNAM mobile application. Her work was also featured in the Computering solo exhibition at the Kamera Gallery as part of the 10th anniversary of Kino Šiška in Ljubljana in 2019. In 2020 she exhibited an interactive installation titled Dark Mode with Dorijan Šiško at Osmo/za, participated in the Open Studio artist residency at the DobraVaga Gallery and held a solo exhibition titled NEa̷t̶u̵r̶e̶ ̸a̷n̶dE ̵SJo̴c̸ı̵a̴lM ̵SNt̴u̷dOı̵e̷s̵ at GT22 in Maribor.

Special mention goes to Sara Bezovšek’s experimental film The Future … Is Just Like You Imagined, which skilfully translates her intermedia installation into a film, testing the principle of the telephone screen on the cinema screen.
Monumentalen hommage koncu sveta v maniri Hieronymusa Boscha, ki zeitgeistovski fenomen »doomscrollanja« posrečeno pretvori v filmski jezik. S premišljeno akumulacijo podob banalnega internetnega vsakdana sestavi pretresljiv portret kolektivnega nezavednega in naslika slutnjo stvari, ki prihajajo.
For its inovative and visually remarkable approach. A gut wrentching vulcanic eruption of digital images sends the viewer deeper into the harsh reality of our contemporary world.
