The director Milan becomes a persona non grata and despised in his own company. Seeking aid, he turns to a friend of his in politics, who assures him there is no chance he will be forced to step down. Nevertheless, the complaints against him in the company continue - until he is forced to resign. Yet due to his "correct" political orientation, Milan's career is not over yet. It may be that the times of what was termed "self-managing socialism" are over and done with, but political and economic intrigues, connivance and connections and the desire for power continue to exist.
