A poetic depiction of a poem by Persian poet, theologist and Sufi mystic Rumi. Having been written in Farsi in the 13th century, the poem explores diversity, peculiarity, being outcast from society. It seeks the meaning of rules in society, emphasizing the freedom of an individual regardless of the colour of their skin, religion or social status. The film is a collage of various parts of the poem being recited, matching the timelessness of Rumi's poetry and the universal meaning of the subject matter. His poetry has been filtered to relate to the contemporary personal experience, and set in modern society including all its evident issues.
