Synopsis
The only king buried on Slovenian territory is the French king Charles X. After his exile, he found refuge in Gorizia, where he died of cholera. He is buried in the Kostanjevica monastery. Other Bourbons who found peace here after turbulent destinies and political upheavals rest beside him.

Director's statement
The story of Charles X intertwines historical upheavals and personal losses. As a king turned refugee, he died away from his homeland. The stark contrast between the former grandeur of the French monarchy and the quiet of his crypt in Kostanjevice symbolizes his complex legacy.
