The story of the film is based on real-life events. October 1958, the Cold War is at its peak. A group of young communist nuclear physicists from behind the 'iron curtain', arrive on a special flight to Paris. Led by Professor Popovic, they are swiftly escorted by the police to the renowned experimental clinic, Institute Curie. Medical evaluations reveal that the scientists have been exposed to a lethal dose of uranium. The head of the medical team, Professor Mathé, suspects that his patients were secretly involved in the development of a nuclear bomb. As a result, Mathé is in constant conflict with Popovic who doubts Mathé’s true intentions are only to help.
