The film is an animated illustration of the song A Beautiful Sunday at St. Jacob's in Resnik written by a folk-poet from the mountain Pohorje. He lived in the first half of the 19th century, in the time of the revolutionary period, also called The Spring of Nations. He was the contemporary of renowned Slovenes; poet France Prešeren and the blessed Anton Martin Slomšek. Life on Pohorje in those times was very much like that depicted on the paintings Wedding Banquet and Peasant Dance by the Dutch master Pieter Bruegel. Although the people of Pohorje are highlanders, they have something in common with the Dutch – making wooden clogs. Bruegel's paintings form the basis for the animation. The film also vivifies some true people who lived in that time and also some people from later periods.
