Synopsis
Cannabis Sets You Free is a documentary essay about activists from Slovenia, former Yugoslavia and other EU and world wide countries who have dedicated their lives to cannabis use. While some have fallen foul of the law, all of them have somehow gone down the road of the cannabis revolution.

Kontroverzna tema, ki v tem trenutku predstavlja eno najbolj vročih dokumentarnih tem je v rokah avtorja, ki se zaveda svoje odgovornosti. Filmska pripoved temelji na osebni zgodbi gojitelja konoplje in njegovem boju s sodnimi mlini, vendar v svojem bistvu skriva veliko več. Vprašanje legalizacije konoplje je predstavljeno skozi prepletanje treh različnih perspektiv podanih skozi observativno, animirano in raziskovalno pripovedno linijo, pri čemer osvetli tako pogled na interese farmacevtske industrije in politike na eni strani, kot na problematiko zlorabe mehkih drog in boj malega človeka za svoje pravice na drugi. Zaradi aktualnosti teme in svežega avtorskega pristopa ima film, po mnenju komisije, velik potencial tako za slovenski kot mednarodni prostor
