Synopsis
Dr Jožef Smej (1922 - 2020) was a poet, writer, theologian, chronogram writer, historian, translator, humanist, and Catholic bishop. His achievements and his gentle, cosmopolitan nature made a real difference in and beyond the city of Maribor, making him a true citizen emeritus.

Director's statement
I wanted to film Mr Smej purely as an individual being, the film became very personal and poetic. In front of me was mercury, which has to be commemorated by being still, in fact, when it is moving. To make certain long and static sequences was a kind of meditation or prayer.
