Synopsis
Based on true events, “Dorothea” is a poetic drama about an innocent woman accused of witchcraft in the 17th century. Fear, prejudice and power rule the castle courtyard, yet dignity quietly emerges. Through meditative imagery, the film explores truth, guilt and inner freedom in a world built on lies.
Director
Director's statement
With Doroteja, I want to show how fear and prejudice manufacture guilt, while truth can survive the pressure of power. Through a restrained visual language, I seek the dignity and inner freedom of a woman confronting the lies imposed upon her.
