Synopsis
In “The Valley of My Breath”, residents live with the legacy of asbestos and contemporary co-incineration. Revealing the complexity of this reality, alongside the power and beauty of nature, the film explores the tension between material progress and the right to health, and asks where hope lies.
Director
Director's statement
I came to the Middle Soča Valley out of urgency… out of anger and curiosity. I stayed to listen. I heard an echo of material progress, illness, activism, personal reckoning, and evasion of responsibility – one that extends far beyond the valley into an increasingly divided world.
