Blood, brutality, dehumanization, modern slavery. In the hell of a pig slaughterhouse, the tender love between two men blossoms. In a place where the boundaries between power and powerlessness blur, a spark of humanity ignites and becomes a blazing fire of longing for freedom and a new beginning. This cleverly condensed film gets under the skin: a tactile experience in which the audience is immersed in the scent of human intimacy and bloody pigs, and touch, as well as injury, becomes seemingly tangible. The film is more than just a story about two loving men in a hopeless situation. It is a profound portrait of the search for dignity and self-determination. It forces us to look into a world that is painful to look at and that we all too willingly suppress. While the story releases one of the protagonists into apparent freedom, the audience is left with the oppressive suspicion that similar fates are unfolding invisibly thousands of times on the fringes of society.
