Synopsis
The documentary unravels for the viewer the film history of the Grand hotel Union, and particularly of its big hall where occasional film screenings began in 1906, soon after the opening of the hotel in 1905. In 1935 businessman Milan Kham took a lease on the great hall and several adjacent rooms and turned it into a cinema. He later founded the film production company Emona Film. The hall and its rooms were returned to their original owner, the Union Hotel after denationalisation.
