Synopsis
Sarajevo experienced its most dreadful days during the last Balkan rave. In the winter of 1992/93 and on the initiative of the General Staff of Bosnian Armed Forces they secretly began with preparations for the excavation of the tunnel under the airport runway. The tunnel was excavated in July 1993 after three months of continuous work in impossible conditions. Up to four thousand soldiers and civilians and several tons of food and material passed through the tunnel every day. The film is a story about people in the besieged Sarajevo, to whom the excavation of the tunnel gave hope and possibility to fight an unequal battle for their city and their wish to stay and subsist. Everyone of them with their own intimacy, human story and message.
