Synopsis
After the end of the Second World War, a group of concentration camp internees of various nationalities end up in Czechoslovakia, where they find shelter in a railway car. As they are forced to live together, tense situations of friendship and enmity develop, leading to noble acts of self-sacrifice when the suspicion is confirmed that one of the men is not what he seems, but in fact a member of the defeated German army. One of the internees sets off home on foot, while the others set their hopes on a train which is to take them home. Will they make it?
