The film is about the Bohinj railway line that through the Bohinj tunnel leads to Baška Grapa, through the valley of the river Soča to Nova Gorica and crosses Karst and ends in Trieste. The Bohinj Railway was the most demanding section of the Transalpina that across the Alps connected Bavaria, northwest of Austria and the then Czecho-Slovakia with Trieste. On this 145-kilometre railway they had to construct forty-three tunnels, five avalanche galleries, and sixty-two bridges as well as water pumping stations for trains and railway station. The railway station in Nova Gorica with its elements of secession is certainly an architecture specialty. The railway track was completed in 1906; it was one of the last majestic projects of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire.
