The River Lahinja and its landscape tell stories of our natural heritage and cultural monuments, explored by an ecologist Ana and photographer Rok. They discover a new species of black proteus and also a number of interesting people who live with this river landscape. They are watched by a rare river inhabitant, who enjoys its watery habitat immensely. They begin their journey by train, observing the Karst springs, rare for the region of Bela Krajina, and the river's current. Exceptional underwater footage of plant and animal life in their indigenous environment bares witness to the magical natural world of Slovenia. We must only open our hearts and our eyes and protect the natural and cultural pearls of our inheritance for future generations.
