Distopije In postproduction Q3 2024

Dystopias is an experimental animation film that explores various possible dystopian futures of humanity using film and internet references. It shows the viewer different types of speculative, totalitarian, or post-apocalyptic dystopias by highlighting their most common elements: bureaucratic and technological control, control and repression by the ruling authority, economic collapse, total war, nuclear winter, environment destroyed through climate change... Dystopias is part of the multi-year project SND (Spoznavanje narave in družbe, or Nature and Social Studies) by multi-disciplinary artist Sara Bezovšek, in which the author is using the cut-and-paste technique, combining found digital material and creating new narratives through appropriation and hyper-text. Using digital images familiar to the global internet user, she aims to show how internet phenomena, clichés, memes, and iconic pop culture references are influencing our perception and shaping the world in which we all live.
