Political prisoners on the island of Campo Mamula find themselves in a worse situation after Italy’s capitulation than before. Italians are replaced with Germans who promise them that each of the prisoners shall be set free after he deactivates ten mines. Two are set free and try to find Partisans. They cannot find them, so they return to the prison and help escape others.
