In the second programme we will have the opportunity to see the only feature film by Nataša Prosenc Stearns, the first project of her production company, Kanalya Pictures. Souvenir deals with the appropriation of African cultural heritage both through the historical processes of colonisation and contemporary museum-exhibition practices. As a prelude to the film, you can also watch the short documentary What Is Enough?, in which people of different religious, ethnic, gender and class backgrounds discuss the basic mechanism of desire in various contexts, from the private to the public, defined by the culture of consumption, with a broader social commentary also offered by media theorist and lecturer at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Maja Manojlović. Maja Manojlović will also lecture on the film and video oeuvre as an introduction to the final section of the retrospective Between Body and Space IV: Black Waters, which will be screened on 3 June.
